also, my boyfriend is trying to learn to colour i photoshop (and i showed him opencanvas too) and he asked me to ask you how you did that. like, what tools you use and that kind of thing. :D

omg, I am the WORST person to ask how to do anything. For the most part, a lot of what I do is trail and error. Hours spent playing around with the programs, which is what he should do. Just sit down and play with all the brush features. Try to create something just from his understanding of what the tools do, it will feel much more natural for him.

Also? there are tons, TONS, of tutorials out on the web and very easy to find. I don't follow them well, so I just do what I want :d which is really, just playing with the brushes in PS. The flow and opacity. Getting a little outline, painting in a solid base from which to work with and color over and going on from there. OC is much, much easier for a new person if they have a pen tablet. You just do the same thing there, play with the brushes values until you have a few set up that do what you want them to do.
