Mostly because one day I wish to make a meeting of my flist people. I always miss going to cons and not everyone I know goes to them anyways.

It's like there's a zone of fannish clearance around the inland Pacific Northwest. Just a handful of us manage to eek out any fannish existance away from the coastal fan gatherings. We should start our own convention for people stranded in the middle of the country.

i moved to portland, oregon a couple of months ago... i passed through idaho on my way here. very briefly. but yeah... i dunno, it's a few hours or more depending on where...

This may seem a little creepy since I'm not *actually* on your FL, but I wanted to point out that the Portland, OR crewe (such that we are) is basically rad and if you have a chance I fully recommend a visit.
