Go California! It's a bugger when a progressive nation such as the US gets left behind in these sorts of human rights (and just plain "common decency") matters.

They great thing about the US is it's diversity but it can also be its downfall when it's diversity among beliefs is so extreme that cases like this take forever to come about and for change to come. That leaders cannot take one side or the other and stand in the middle while nothing gets done. Till now!
