I wonder if having an IQ so high would be as appealing as it looks on the surface. To always be in demand for what your formidable intellect can accomplish seems a double-edged sword to me. Not to mention the struggle to find somebody to communicate with on the same level in a social or romantic manner. I find it difficult enough now and I can only imagine that the odds would be far less favourable for somebody such as Rodney.

The arrogance he displays is very familiar to me. It reminds me of the similar arrogance and eccentricity I have wrapped around myself like armor since early childhood. My constant questions and willingness to stand up and argue with adults when I knew I was right didn't earn me many friends, either amongst my peers or authority figures. The few who did find it attractive were average trouble-makers and they were, after an initial period of discovery, of little interest to me.
