Also, John would be a seriously stand-offish cat. The kind that sort of looks at you oddly when you go to pet it, and only deigns to let you touch him if he really, really likes you. That said, he'd probably be a purring mess in Rodney's lap within the hour.

Well, Rodney *does* miss his kitty

Um, Rodney saves a society from Wraith, and to reward him, the saved people's give him his heart's desire, which seems to be a confused jumble of 'I miss my kitty so much' and 'I love John so much and want to hug and pet him', so they think that they've solved the problem in one fell swoop.

Now Rodney knows how to reverse the process, no problems, but really, he does miss his kitty awfully, and John's ever so cuddly like this, and what's a few days of only slightly guilty cudling with the Colonel? He'll turn him back eventually, sure he will.
