Rodney, who wasn't really prone to panicking. Unless it involved, the wraith, death, or the loss of: blood, money or food. He was relatively calm. So it surprised him, when coming back to earth, that preparing for the press-release of the Stargate program was worse then watching a wraith licks its fingers clean after feeding on a peer/team mate/loved one and the way entire Atlantis crew looked at the last pot of coffee.

It also didn't help that while Rodney was alternating between two suits and rehearsing his speech that, well, they didn't ask him to give, but really, they needed it. John was sitting on the hotel bed, already dressed and ready to go while reading the cable guide and touching it in a manner that Rodney had forbid use on himself in public.

"John. John... John, god dammit, comb your hair. You’re going to be in public."

John looked reluctantly away from the guide, looked up at Rodney while using one hand to smooth down the hair that hadn't changed since Rodney woke up to John drooling on the pillow.

"I did."

hehe, John starts to write in his little journal how the ZMP is taking all of Rodney's time and that, really, he isn't too sure of their relationship. The long hours Rodney and the ZMP are in the labs together, alone. And that maybe, just maybe, Rondey and the ZMP are having an affair.
