So, this sunday I turned 23. Which well, is the age where nothing happens. I almost feel let down. Its not like 18 or 21. Or even 19 in which I could enter the sketched out quarter porn booth shop. Er.

Now I just... look older. OLDER THEN I AM IT SEEMS. For I was in a situation in which people referred to my 17 old sister AS MY DAUGHTER D: D: D: D:

I would like to prove I do not look that old... OR I DO.

Happy Birthday! Ah, 23. The memories. Do you have that early 20s ennui? Take heart! My life started to get a lot awesomer towards the end of when I was 23 and has remained awesome so far (~2 years).

Well, not to disillusion you or anything, but I am exactly twice your age and I can therefore tell you that you are a baby. An eeny, teeny, tiny , still wet-behind-the-ears baby.

23 and people think you're much older... yeah, I'm sure that's frustrating. But the other way round isn't much better. I will turn 29 soon and people always think I'm younger, which isn't a compliment at all, because they think I'm MUCH younger, like 17 or so! Last year at an election someone asked me how voting for the first time was like for me - hello, I voted for the first time when I was 16!! Similar things happened in discussions about my driver's license (which I have for eleven years now) and in other situations. Maybe when I'm forty I'll be flattered when people think that I look like 18, but not now at 28, when I want other people to take me seriously! Grmpf.

i managed to be asked by my 11 year old cousin's scout troop (yes, a whole group of young boys...) if i was his mum. i was FOURTEEN. that pretty much scarred me until i was 24 at school and was repeatedly asked by fellow play-cast members if i was a first year. *grins*

other peoples' perceptions can be distorted... i think it may be television...
